khkGames is focused on the creation of 2D/3D/4D Realtime art using, for example: Videogame engines, VR displays, installation, and performative practices. For our purposes, a Game is defined as an approach to interacting with and directing a player or audience. Without the participation of the player, the artwork does not exist. Beyond this very open principle, a game can be anything. Students are encouraged to develop a multidisciplinary creative practice, thinking across genres and mixing methods to make worlds.
Games are something we all play. No experience is required to join the Games class but making Videogames is hard work which will take a commitment to learn various technical aspects to get the most from the program.
We will explore the vibrant independent game making scene and the current uses of game strategies in contemporary artworks.
