This will be a series of World building workshops in game engines. World building is about translating the sense of place - physical, emotional and imagined reality - into a form that can be shared, and interpreted, by a player or audience. We will explore Text-based games, Flat games, First and third-person navigation, and VR immersion.

(For students who have taken at least one game engine class before.)
What is your game going to be? What effect can your game have in the wider game culture? How should you express your idea to others if you can’t make it yet? This is the class about game ideas and presenting them well! We will have a critical look at what we want to make and why. We will organise our thoughts, discuss team building, how to plan and make a schedule, how to make an elevator pitch and more. Bring your work in progress projects for playtest and discussion to discover where to take it next. We will go deeper, as a group, into game design decision-making.
